GENESIS

The book of Genesis provides a powerful picture of God’s plan for the world and humanity. Within the pages of the first book of the Bible, we discover God’s loving and self-giving work in creation. We encounter the problem of sin and the consequences of death. We see how God works to redeem us to each other and Himself. We watch as God begins to form a nation of people called Israel who will be the bearers of His truth and promises for the whole world. And most of all, we are pointed to the coming savior, Jesus Christ, through the prophetic lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. The powerful and true story reminds us that God’s plan has always been to save us through His Son, and all of history, from the beginning of creation, was pointed to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
